Every Saturday Morning from May to October a band of farmers, vendors and volunteers transforms the parking lot of Doug Duncan Drive and Timothy Street into a bustling hive of activity reminiscent of the town’s early years as a new market. This hive is the Newmarket Main Street Farmers’ Market - a place to buy farm fresh produce, home-made baking and hand-made crafts.
Founded as a revitalization initiative for Newmarket Historic Downtown, the market has thrived as these facts will attest: - average 25+ vendors throughout the season - $300,000+ gross for the market last season - On average there are over 800 shoppers per day This success is in no small part due to the extra reason we give shoppers to come to the market.
We also have Master Gardeners on hand all season long to answer gardening questions. We feature a community service tent used by a roster of local groups, and a full calendar of special events. Events include music and horse drawn wagon rides through downtown Newmarket, starting and ending at the market.
