Our History
Founded in 1999 as a revitalization initiative for Newmarket Historic Downtown, the market has thrived over the past 10 years as these facts will attest:
- average 40+ vendors throughout the season
- $300,000+ gross for the market last season
- average over 800 shoppers per day
- we are a regulated Farmers’ Market
This success is due to the many reasons we give shoppers to come to the market. Every week shoppers have the opportunity of filling out a ballot for the chance to win a bushel of free produce and crafts (no purchase necessary), every vendor donates an item. Retail value approx. $170.
We also have Master Gardeners on hand all season long to answer gardening questions. We have a regular nutritionist available at the Market Association tent to answer questions. We have vendors who sell heirloom beets, tomatoes and carrots.
We feature a community service tent used by a roster of local groups and special events.
We are located on Doug Duncan Drive Newmarket.
The Newmarket Main Street Farmers' Market would like to express our appreciation to our new 2011 Sponsors who help support our entertainment and communication initiatives.
Thank You!

We have moved back to Doug Duncan & Timothy St. beside the CUSP project.
Every Saturday Morning from the first weekend in May to the last weekend in October, a band of farmers, vendors and volunteers create a hive of activity reminiscent of the town’s early years as a new market. A place to buy farm fresh produce, home-made baking, hand-made crafts and a great place to meet up with friends over breakfast or lunch.
